Another burnt wick??

Using 30ga., 2mm mantrel, 9wraps, 2.0 ohms. Firing at 3.3v. Went thru a partial tank of Creme Brûlée. Started getting hot burning taste at the end of the tank. The tank was empty. Broke it down and the coil wasn't gunked but the cotton wick was burnt. When I put the wick into the coil the wick moved easily thru the coil.

My question is could the wick have burned because the tank was empty? Or could it be something else?

Cotton burns easily. As soon as there is not enough liquid to cool it, it will burn.

That is what I figured. I hope that is the case.

It is the case. You got a dry hit and when using cotton one dry burn equals burnt cotton. Change out the cotton and use a bit more this time

Just keep the tank from running dry. no amount cotton will change that it burns when it runs out of juice.
