Hello everyone, I have been vaping for a while and recently I started having a symptom I never had before. It's not the juice because I have vape this juice and nice strength for a while and usually I have no problems. For the last couple of months every once in a while when I vape I get this feeling like there is a piece of hair or something stuck in my throat and I can't get it out. It makes me cough like crazy and it's very uncomfortable. I can only describe it as something lodged in my throat. It only happens every once in a while and it's random but when it happens it's horrible. I'm writing this post because it happened this morning and I coughed for an hour trying to get something out of my throat that is not there. Now every time I take a vape I feel it hurt my throaght. It's a couple hours later now and I still feel like there is something in my throat but it's getting more dull and going away. I have no clue what this is or why it's happening and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. It has happened with high vg juice and pg/vg mixes. Also with low nicotine juices. I was switching juices and to low nic to see if that was the problem and it's not. Idk what it is but it's annoying and uncomfortable.

Hello everyone, I have been vaping for a while and recently I started having a symptom I never had before.

You weren't specific on how long you have been vaping.

Novices often are not aware that they need to increase their water intake when they vape. Both propylene glycol (Pg) and vegetable glycerin (Vg) are hydrophilic, meaning that they attract or draw water to them. This means that vapor will draw moisture from the mucous membranes in your mouth and throat, causing them to become dry. You can actually become mildly dehydrated if you don't increase your fluid intake. This dryness can be irritating and cause a tickle in your throat or a cough.

I strongly suspect this is the cause of your symptom. Increase your water intake. Suck on some hard candy or chew gum to get your saliva glands working when you vape.

If you are sub-ohming, the heat of the vapor will be hotter and increase the likelihood that you'll have a dry throat.

The only thing I can relate to with your description of the problem is when I've scratched my throat with something I've eaten. It then feels like there is something there, like a hair or something, but of course there isn't so no amount of coughing or horking does any good. Eventually the feeling goes away. Obviously it is a random problem and all depends on what I've eaten and yes it is a most uncomfortable feeling that something is stuck in your throat.
Is it possible this has nothing at all to do with vaping and that the vape is simply making you feel it that much more?
