You can try the way that Rip Trippers do in the review video of Pharaoh. Prime your cotton wick and soft pulsing the coil.
I use that method a lot. I think it helps break the cotton in faster, but man I can only take rip in small doses.

There's the science of vaping, ie ohms law, flooded build decks, dry hits.

Then there's the art of vaping. That's finding what is best for you. As with art, we all like different things. Same with Vaping. So become an artist and do what you like. Just be safe

I use muji. Quality, affordable pads. I Scottish roll my wicks. And I measure out the width I want. I adjust the width based upon taste. I do get that new cotton taste, but only with the first 5-10 hits.

To the OP, off topic, but what's that purple juice you're vaping?

Wrapping a coil is dead simple, wicking a coil is an art. The way you wick will vary with the coil and tank and even the juice you choose.

As to Rip's method the Pharaoh RTA, I have that tank and use a lot less cotton than he does. It's still more than typical, but I don't double fold the end and stuff it in with a wire loop. But if it works for you, keep going with it.
