Still haven't used my mini much - been really busy around here.

I did mess with it a bit today - with some new 12mg 60VG/40PG juice I mixed up - and still found myself very underwhelmed.

So I said heck with it and broke out my drill. I drilled out all four juice holes on the coil - I don't know the size of my bit (small!) but I'd say I came close to doubling the diameter of the juice holes. At first I tried pulling the coil out of the casing, but it didn't seem like that was going to happen without destroying the coil, so I just drilled the holes out with the coil intact, trying to stop as soon as I got through the metal casing on each one. Was pretty successful - didn't even appear to disturb the wicking material much at all. No special tools - just my cordless drill and a pair of pliers. Took less than 5 minutes total.

Re-installed the coil and completly removed the AFC ring off the top.

Holy Carp!

This Mini is a totally different animal now! Flavor, airflow, and vapor production are all easily doubled. I can chain-vape full 10 second DTL hits one after the other without getting dry hits - I'm not getting any flooding either.

I was about to shelve this thing - but not anymore!
Definitely sounds like something worth checking out. Thank you!

I plan to rewick mine if possible with rayon. I use 50/50+/- so it should be interesting. thanks for the review.

cant wait,, mine should arrive late today. (my mail comes around 5pm everyday)
its ok so far,,,,,,i need to rewick them with rayon (real thin layer),, saw another poster mentioning drilling out the juice holes... need to look into that.

as for performance,, yes decent clouds,, everything is on the cool side,, but that's because I am used to subohm.

I was just wondering if you had gotten yours yet. I'm not a fan of rayon but looking forward to hearing how it works for you.

i rewicked with rayon,, that paper/cotton... more like paper in the used filter is the problem with the system,, its just too much like paper......anyway.. i wrapped it 4 times with a pretty thin strand set of rayon.

i have gurgling, a bit of spit back.........but huge improvement on flavor.---i mean x10,.. i think i should rewrap the rayon later when i get time to 6 or 8 wraps if i stay so 'sheer' on the rayon.

downside to rewrapping.. you better have good light and your better tools.. that coil is tiny.. my fingernails were constantly in the way. and i dont have long nails,,i dont have stubs either lol

Has anyone taken one of these on a flight or two yet?

I'm probably gonna get one - specifically for some stealth vaping.
Pre- and post-flight, NOT onboard... plus a couple other occasions when it would be convenient to just carry something this tiny...

But really, the driving factor is whether it can keep the juice in during air pressure changes of flights.
All my other gear I have to take apart and reassemble after landing - tanks, squonkers, they all leak in flight.

it holds such a small amount i would fly with it empty but not brand new empty.. then fill up a bit on your layover.

i rewicked 1 of mine with rayon,, and the flavor improved by miles.,, but i need to add more wraps.......problem is i simply dont like it much and about 30minutes ago my neighbor loved it lol.........so 'they aint mine anymore'

neighbor gave me a couple of 'v2 red' gas station ecigs to break down for her........1 was actually not bad but has no way to recharge it......so that's a waste of money for her. the other one,, not sure what she gave me to look at can be refilled with a little effort..........so we are waiting on the battery to charge.

I hit one coil with super tight draw, even with the air wide open.
Switched and it's back to normal, it must have been a dud coil.
Got me curious, anyone else hit any bad coils?
Had that happen, no idea why, but haven't had a chance to see what the problem is due to working too much. :( Should have some time later this month to look into the tight draw problem. I even took off the air ring and it was still tight.

That is the problem I had with KGD cotton, was wicking too much, so I just reused the paper and it was back to the way it was before. I ordered some silica sheets (which came in :)) and on my next attempt and going to try that. I am thinking silica around the coil, and KGD around that feeding it juice? Not sure, but I Should have some time later this month to try it. :)

Well have spent a while messing with these rebuilding the coil, tried several things. First, KGD floods no matter how tight tight I wrap it, just wicks too good. The SS316L wire I got from China must be off on size a little. The 32 gauge was way too high on Ω for what it should have been, so I went to the 30 gauge, still too high, so I reduced the wraps to 7, which should have been around 1Ω, but was still at 1.3Ω/1.4Ω according to my DMM. It vapes OK at that, but next rebuild I am going to try 6 wraps and see where that turns out, I think I am going to need to get close to the 1.1Ω to have it vape good. The silica sheets work well so far, seems to wick OK and no flooding, but I will use this build for a while and see what happens. Next weekend I'll see if I can get some time to do some more rebuilding. :)
