I have started this new experience this week with the vaping thing, But am also sitting here wondering if I chose the wrong device. For me it is not about the clouds it is more of a throat hit I am looking for myself. That being said for those who have the Aegis X is it possible to use a higher coil in the mod like .6 .8 or maybe even a 1.0 coil?? Sure hope I did not buy the wrong unit just for harsh
vapor lung hit instead of the throat nic hit I am trying to accomplish here. Am

going from smoking 3 packs of Marlboro Reds to vaping instantly. So trying to get it down with the notes like I am in school still which was a very long time ago, Am old man here myself lol. I do realize it is a process till we all find the sweet spot that we like. Hope I am making sense am half a sleep here grand babies were over last night so not much sleep lol And wow look at all that advice that you all have left. You all rock :headbang:

Keep the Aegis, it'll work with any tank.

Don't do this. Most diy flavors are diluted in PG, and should really be bought from reliable vape supply stores. Lorann's have many that are not safe for vaping.

Yea, forgot that some of LorAnn's are not cut with PG. You will want to check the ingredients. But I meant this as a last resort. LorAnn's flavors are weak.

I'm using the Aegis X 200w mod with the Cerberus tank with the 0.2ohm coil and am finding 35w gives me a nice vape. Going higher wattage increases the vape intensity but I find its too much. 35W for me is just right.
Also for me, anything higher than 6mg is too much of a nic hit for me. It's a sub ohm tank and will intensify the nic hit.

Well, you have the kit now and you likely cannot return it if you opened it.

And being a heavy 3 PAD smoker you may just need a high wattage, direct lung setup to be satisfied enough to quit smoking. So try to work with it before you decide that it's the wrong setup.

And like @smacuser said, the mod itself is a 510 threaded mod so even if you decide the tank isn't for you, you can still use the mod for any other tank. All the tanks out there are 510 threaded today.

To answer your question about the ohms, I'm 95% sure there are no coils for that tank that are 1 ohm or even 0.6 ohm or 0.8 ohm. I believe the highest ohm coil for that tank is 0.4 ohms.

Just get an innokin Zenith or Slide to use with your mod and the juice you already have. Perfect starter tank imo. Fairly wide range of af to play with to find your personal sweet spot.

I agree that that tank is not what you want or need right now (but keep it for later) You want a MTL tank (like mentioned, Innokin Zenith or Zlide are good choices) The Zlide is very affordable and both of those use the same Z coils (many options... I like the 0.8 ohm but many like the 1.6 ohm) How is your budget? Eventually, you should always have a back-up device so I personally recommend the Innokin Kroma-Z (uses those same Z coils) So (if you can afford it) the Kroma-Z, a Zlide tank and some Z coils... you will be set and have options and backup. Otherwise, just get the Zlide tank and some extra coils for it. In the future, play with your sub-ohm tank.

Well spent pretty much all day vaping TNT Tobacco 12mg was the only tobacco flavor my local shop had and I must say it is very nice leaves just a little sweetness on the lips and the taste is pretty enjoyable. There are several things I would like to share with you all since I am new to this whole vaping experience and have joined you all here. Even though this device the Aegis X is recommended to be used at least at 60-80 I have found my sweet spots at 18.00W 19.00W and 20.00W without it feeling to harsh and believe it or not I still maintain a good throat hit as well as a deep mouth draw to lung without feeling light headed or having a head rush from it. Maybe I will use this device a entire week before getting a back up, This is the only device I have at present so trying to do with what I have now.

Seems a little weird I know with that low of a wattage. I am sure I could go a lower mg say 6mg or even 3mg and more then likely this would allow me to bump the device up to maybe a higher wattage, Those Marlboro Reds I use to smoke must have some serious chemicals in them is all I can say lol, Hit this bad boy on 60-80 and instant head rush and the harshness wow, So I said okay drop it to 30-35 nope same head rush and harshness wow. But then again I am still learning the timing on the mouth and fire button to still for the perfect draw. Well just sharing my experience if you have any thoughts also please feel free to tell me I really appreciate the advice that you all leave because hey as beginners we always need help from others who know. Have a pack of Marlboro sitting beside me now have not lit one yet though not giving up on the vaping yet 30+ years was a long time I smoked those old cigarettes for sure. Thank You :smokie:I wish lol :(

I'm glad it's working for you (for now) Many others here run coils well below recommended wattage and are very happy with that. Please understand your Aegis is a "mod" basically a regulated battery... you can use any (510 threaded tank) that you want. The Cerberus (that I assume you are using) is a "tank". Just want to get the lingo clear. Seriously, just get a Zlide tank and some Z coils (there are many other MTL tank choices but it is one the most popular, affordable and uses the common Z coils) Don't mean to trip you out, but I did hint about not delaying... do this soon.

Yes I will be getting one of these soon. Yes the Aegis X has the Cerberus tank on it presently that I am using. Looks like those Zlide Tanks are only $21 and a little change pretty cheap huh.

Yes I will be getting one of these also. The Innokin Kroma Z pod kit brings popular Kroma technology to pod kits. Compatible with existing Z coils, the Kroma Z can deliver up to 40 watts of power from an impressive 3000 mAh internal battery. Was looking at these today as well. The Cerberus (that I assume you are using) is a "tank". Just want to get the lingo clear. You can use any 510 threaded tank? Can you please clarify or explain this I am really loss about it. Are you saying that the other units tank can fit on this Aegis? or should I buy the other unit complete with the tank too? That other unit is attached with magnets no threads if we on the same page. Yes this Aegis X has the Cerberus tank on it presently and I am using it. Thanks in advance

Glad to hear you're getting squared away. Since your vaping lower wattage than expected, you can stick with the higher mg juices.

Even though this device the Aegis X is recommended to be used at least at 60-80 I have found my sweet spots at 18.00W 19.00W and 20.00W

The mod isn't designed for a specific wattage. You set it to whatever you want within it's top and bottom limits. It's the coil head that had a specific recommended wattage, and even those are just recommendations.

But the mod can be used at whatever wattage you want. And since it's a dual battery mod and you're only vaping at 20W or less, that will last you a hell of a long time between charges. As long as you don't mind the size of the mod, it's all good.

When you're shopping of your next mod, if you'd like something a little smaller but with decent battery life, I suggest you look into a single battery 21700 mod. You can still use an 18650 in it with the adapter they all include or you can use a 21700 battery for a longer life. If you like the Aegis line, a single battery 21700 mod you might consider is the Aegis Max. If you buy it in a kit it will come with a cerberus tank. For a 21700 battery you may consider a Molicel P42A 21700 (but like I said, it's not needed right away since you can still use an 18650 battery in it).

I would also suggest you get an external charger if you don't already have one.

All tanks today have a 510 threaded connection.
All mods today have a 510 threaded connection.

You can use any tank on any mod. That's what's great about mods.

Pods and "Pod Mods" are a different story, they all use proprietary "tanks" they call "pods". They cannot be used on any other device except for the device it was designed for. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :D
