My daily existance is dirty, dusty, mucky, sometimes wet, etc. I have all sizes of REOs but my true workhorses are the mechanicals. My VVGs have taken swims and survived but I prefer to keep them away from all the perils my workhorses face daily. Not enough can be said for the ease of cleaning a mechanical REO, in hot water.

A mechanical REO and an RM2 give you just about any option for heat, TH, and flavor; minor tweaks of coil and position. And I join in and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., you'll soon learn when to feel that battery needs changing.
BTW, my most used workhorse is a Mini 2.1. Sure, I would like a bigger bottle but the Mini 2.1 works better in most of my pockets.

Since we are on the subject, have there been many issues with the reliability of the VV Grand? I realize there is more that could go wrong than with a mechanical, but how often does something go wrong with the VV's?

Going by something Rob said to me they go wrong more often than he would like ...... But hey its Rob so he thinks they should last 100 years I'm sure judging by his work.

Wow ... Thanks for all the Great responses! ... Much appreciated!
I think my consideration of the VV is not so much to compensate for a voltage 'drop' due to the battery, but with my current rba's I find the need to move up and down in voltage during the day as the same coil seems to hit harder or softer from one time to another. There is so much support for all Reo's on this form I expect to be happy whichever one I choose and if so it's likely I'll purchase the other later.
I am looking forward to the Reomizer as well ... so much support for the RM2 on these forms and if you look closely to its design there really isn't anything exactly like it that I have seen ... from a design perspective it appears to be just right.
Anwyay, Thanks to all that posted, you have all really helped me in making my decision. I hope to order one or the other as soon as the RM2's are back in stock, hopefully early this week! :D

Good thinking. Just this morning, with a delicate throat, instead of loading up my "work horse" VVG, for the very reason you state, I happened to have 0 nic of flavor loaded in workhorse 2.x, so cut it lowering the nic by half. VVG would have been a simple dial down.

Feisty Alice

BTW.. I'm now keeping one workhorse loaded with 0 nic/0 flavor VG but sometimes it's work enough keeping one REO wrangled up, when I'm moving around a lot.

Hi Baddog - I only have a Grand. My experience with VV/VW is limited to a Vamo. With tanks you need that power adjustment. With the Grand I found I need it not at all. And I don't even tinker with my coil. Tried the micro coil cotton, but did not really like the cotton (probably because I'm not doing it right - will try again). Just handwrap a few wraps of 30 gauge kanthal wire around a doubled 3mm silica wick and bobs your uncle. Anything from 1.2 to 1.7 ohm thus far, great vape. And I immediately feel when the battery gets to 3.6 and swap it out. So, to my mind there is no need for that extra expense. But I have ordered a second Grand for that prerequisite backup! And, of course, for an alternating juice.
