The "great place" Ft Hood
Just got my 510 PCC yesterday, so today was my first full day with my 510.

I also switched the cart tip to a 901 style whistle tip...I'm liking it...alot.

ALSO, I tweesed out the hair from under the atty bridge (Must be Troll Hair).

I don't know if it was the PCC, the troll hair, or the whistle tip, but I did not miss my 901 today at all. :D

i know i am inhaling this stuff but has anyone noticed the 901 carts leaking at the very top where the hole is? i see mine leaking inbetween the seam, i guess thats where it is. i dab it with a paper towel and it soaks the towel, not alot but noticeable!

if it touches my tongue and or mouth, is it harmful?

The liquid bubbles up from the atty around the inserted piece of the cart wetting it with juice when it vaporizes. When you insert it into the atty you will get some residual on the seam if you don't wipe it off before hand. Also if you over fill your cart, or your battery is weak and you draw on the cart too hard you will get some fluid in your mouth. I suggest you spit it out into a tissue. I think this is why so many gastrointestinal side effects have been reported. I don't think it will make you ill, but could give you some nasty indigestion and gas.

BTW is that an M203?

haha cheers mate I know I have loads of toys :p I think I'm actually thinking about giving the 510 a chance, might do a review on the 901 and the 510 and a review comparing them both, but think i wana get a manual 901 battery first to make it fair. If I had the choice between the 510 and an analog I'd pick the 510 so I can't hate it that much :p

Yeah, but that's like saying, "I'll take the cotton candy instead of licking the bottom of a used ashtray." :D

Have you tried the 901 flat tips on the 510? It makes a world of difference.

i just don't get it! i used the 901 and 510 and the 901 wasn't producing any less vapor. i love my 901 to death...

510 was harsh as all hell and lacked flavor. maybe you guys that choose 510's should boil your 901 atty's? after a good 1 min boil my 901 came back to life. watch the video reviews, 901's and 510's produce tons of vapor, but the 901 is smoother and far far far less harsh.

if i chose between my 901 and my car, my 901 would win. i would happily walk around blowing clouds everywhere.

yea i usually use a flat tip with the end taken out so its just a flat tip with a big hole, easier draw and more vapor in my opinion (hope that makes sense if not i can post a pic)

by the "end taken out" do you mean the brown plastic piece on the inside?
i tried to remove that but it wouldn't budge. did you break it off?

i'm been vaping on a 510 for months. it was my first and only ecig, until i got my 901 last night. after vaping on my new 901 for a few hours, i've noticed that i get very inconsistent vapor. sometimes i'll get just as much vapor as i get with my 510, and sometimes i'll get next to nothing. it seems to help if i bang the 901 on my leg to get the juice down near the atomizer so it can vaporize. i never had to do this with my 510. i've also noticed that the 901 goes through juice much faster than my 510, which seems to be contrary to what most folks say.

that being said, i like how the 901's atomizer doesn't get as hot as the 510's and i can taste the liquid a little better with the 901. since i got the a great deal on my 901 (starter kit + 15 blanks + extra atomizer for $48 shipped), i don't regret my purchase. i just don't think it'll replace my 510 as my main workhorse ecig.

I have both a 510 and a 901 (auto). I use them both equally.

I definitely prefer the 510 when I'm sitting at home in front of the computer, because it gives more of a throat hit and I always get more vapor from it. I don't like it when I'm out as much because I need to change the batteries more and refill carts more.

I like the 901 when I'm out. I use one battery from the time I leave in the morning until around lunch time (I eat a late lunch). I switch batteries around 2, and that one will last me until I get home no problem. I do get more flavor with the 901, but slightly less throat hit and vapor.

I'm wondering if the people who get equal amounts of vapor can only handle an 8 second "drag". I suck on the 510 for much longer than my 901 allows me, which is probably why I get more vapor.

On weekends, if I'm not going anywhere, I'll usually put a fruity type flavor in my 901 and menthol (or menthol + cherry) in my 510. Menthol has plenty of flavor in the 510, so it's pretty much a perfect solution for me.

TLDR: For convenience and flavor, I suggest the 901. For throat hit and vapor, I suggest the 510.

Hope this helps anybody wondering which to buy.

Have you tried using 510 carts on your 901? They work amazingly well.

I drip with my 901. I haven't used a cart in weeks, and will not unless by accident. Some people won't drip with an auto battery for fear of ruining the switch, but I just make sure to maintain my e-cig. If you drip, clean the batt/atty contacts regularly and make sure liquid doesn't fall into the battery.

Perfectly said. I enjoy the flavor the 901 produces, but I definitely understand how some people enjoy a good throat hit. With that being said, I think the 901 has fallen on the back burner and isn't getting a fair fight.

Honestly, I think they're both great products in their own way, but the 901's rep needs to be built up. I like to play the devil's advocate

That's a good point (which I had forgotten) - as I've said I use both 901 and 510 on a Screwdriver rather than a normal battery (also use an 801 on it too). That means my 901 doesn't have the cut-off that normal 901 batteries do.

My summary is:

901 more flavour
510 more hit
801 more vapour (with 901 and 510 equal on vapour)

I would agree with Professor on this.

I've found that a true DSE901 high-bridge leaks like a ....., when dripping.

I despise the 4075 atomizer (it is not a true DSE901)

I use DSE901's part time, but my favorite main atomizer, is the DSE801. I love vapor clouds!
