I had a really wierd problem and it turned out it was because of a 510 to 510/eGo adapter I was using.

Seems the center pin in the adapter is made up of two parts, which can actually be unscrewed;

the problem occured because over time the thread on that centerpin screw developed corrosion.

dab of electrical grease. I'd use it to keep corrosion at bay.

I thought the screw type post connection is superior because you can adjust the post to where you need it??

I am sure it has it's advantage but I wouldn't have known it could unscrew until it started causing a problem; it has a slot on one side but it just looks like it's to do with air, and when you turn it with a screw driver, you can't hold the other end in one place to unscrew it easily; as far as I can tell it's only designed the way it is for ease of assembly.

So, curious- what mod did you have it on and what kind of malfunctions were you experiencing?

It was on my zmax.
Wasn't firing;
was showing 9.9 ohm.

So basically the center pin threading was adding alot of resistance.

I checked the voltage, and I get voltage off the mod!! But when I put the topper on, no fizzz, and still 9.9 ohm.
Was a real puzzle; thought my zmax had a problem; I did short it out with a screwdriver though; and thats what led me to believe that pressing on the center pin was making a difference; the zmax detected the short; and I also got it to hot a free piece of resistance wire.
