2xAA Box mod with a 18500 battery

Hey guys,
So this is my 3rd mod and only second Box (first one was a magnum).
I realized that I loved the battery in the magnum/torch mods, but preferred the feel of the box mod in my hand. So I cut a hole and made some room for a 18500 battery.
The blue box was my first attempt. You'll see in the pics that the hole is a little big and my hand got a little wobbly in places. The black box in the pics is my newest attempt. Still waiting on a few parts to finish it up.

The hole in the blue box is 58mmx18mm at the widest points.
The hole in the black box is 55mmx16mm.

I ended up adding some solder to the positive contact due to an issue with the atomizer connector pushing on the battery and causing it to loose contact. In future versions I'll make sure the connector is further out of the way.

Once I get a pair of CR2's I'm going to look at a 6V version.

I named it the Ballast if anyone was wondering.

Good idea! Have you ever tried melting the lid outward? Not sure if it would work but worth a try. Looks good!

Looks good and I'll bet you can vape on it for along time with that 18650 battery.

Now that`s making the battery fit. Good job on that fat battery fitting where I bet it was never even thought of being placed before this mod.
So then with the two battery post springs in there does that 18500 battery have two flat ends or do`s one actually still have the positive button?

The button tops fit with the two springs. I cut down and tightened the coil on the positive end to fit just around the button. I figured it would make for a better fit with a pair of cr2's. The blue box has a normal button positive terminal.

I have a few of those 18500's and need a home for them...I may need to try this. Add it to the list...
