260W Variant Vicious Ant Mod

I just picked up a couple 260w variant vicious ant mod clone by P.smoke.
So far I love them, I have only used my Aspire Atlantis tanks on them so far, and notice I had to back my wattage down to about 8-12 Watt.
I was vaping the Aspire Atlantis tanks on my VaperShark rDNA40 at 30-36Watt. Will keep you guys posted, the more I use this bad ... clone.

You mind me asking what the attraction for a 260 watt device is? Just curious as you vape at <15 watts with the nautilus. I get that more extreme RDA's will require more power, but you had a rDNA40 in play.

Its not the power of the device, I don't vape at high wattage at ALL. LOL its just bad .... The first time I seen the original I wanted it but didn't want to dish out $800 for it.
Get one in your hand and it will answer your question.

It sounds like its regulation is wonky. I certainly like the looks of the thing, but I can't imagine using it over an rDNA40. Congrats nonetheless...new vape gear is always a cause for celebration.

"regulation is wonky" Don't think so, I just think its a way better chip that hits harder and really quick.

I'm going to go to my vape shop tomorrow and compare it to the owner's original one and see the difference. I have been reading online and it seen they fixed a couple issues the original had.

The device fires F.... quick that's why I thing you don't need high watt

I'm still new to vaping and still learning but I have had over 15 different mods in last 2 months this by far out perform all of them.

A 0.5 ohm coil running at 36 watts is 4.24 volts. On the other hand, a 0.5 ohm coil running at 12 watts is 2.45 volts. There is nearly an entire 2 volt difference between these values. I know that mean and rms values can vary by about a volt, but I don't know enough of the technical knowledge to describe this situation.

Just because you have a higher voltage battery doesn't mean a damn thing when you're using a regulated device. For the record, running a higher voltage on a similar build would require MORE wattage.

Watts are watts. If the Variant is hitting at 8-12 watts like an rDNA40 at 30-36 watts (which contains a known accurate board), that is a function of its regulation. It sounds to me like its firing at a higher voltage than it should at a given wattage. Is the thing tuned to mean or RMS?

Yes, as a general rule that is correct. For example, the iStick is tuned to mean and it fires much higher than the stated figures on its screen. People are having to back it off the settings to avoid burning out coils. I just got my Variant yesterday and I absolutely love it! It does fire a lot harder than my other APV's, but strangely enough I took meter readings across the atomizer while firing the Variant and the actual voltage readings matched what the mod said it was outputting, I then checked it against a Clouper T8 using the same atomizer and settings and got the same voltage readings with much less vapor production.

The one thing I haven't been able to figure out with the Variant is how the heck to reset the puff counter, and if anyone else has figured it out I'd greatly appreciate the answer.
