Hey, another question for you wonderful people! Just purchased the Xcube II from smok and am curious, what are some good 18650 batteries to use with it?

I have some efest 18650 35amps but they are a bit old and i want to get some newer batteries.

Illumn seems to be the best place to purchase batteries from, but what are recommended for such high wattage and low ohm? Will be using TFV4 at .15 ohms at around 100 to 120 watts

The VTC5's are 20A batteries. I would recommend VTC4's (can be run to 30A) or HB6's (run cooler than any battery at high amps, but low capacity) if you'll be running that mod at over 100W. You'll be running 20A batteries pretty hard at those power levels.

You're replacing them but just a bit of info about the Efests for others reading this thread: There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A! | E-Cigarette Forum

If using a high wattage regulated mod, use a 20 - 30 amp CDR IMR battery, which ever your mod's manufacturer recommends. The processor's amp limit determines the amp requirement in this application, not the atomizer resistance:

75W or higher, we recommend the Sony VTC4 2100 mah 30 amp CDR.

40W-75W = Samsung 25R, green wrap if you can, blue wrap is just fine.
    LG 18650HE2 2500 mah 20Amp CDR
    Sony 18650VTC5 2600mAh 30A (* tested as only a 20 amp CDR)

    Under 40W = LG 18650HG2 3000mah 20Amp CDR
Samsung INR18650-30Q 3000mah 15A CDR, almost identical in performance.

    * The Sony VTC5 appear to test out as only 20 amp CDR batteries, not 30 amp.

I'll go ahead and second the recommendations of Baditude and Mooch. Don't buy more Efests, they're rewraps of a lower capacity cell. Sony VTC4's, samsung 25r's, and lg HB6's are some of the best. Always buy your batteries from a reputable seller.

Don't buy batteries off of Amazon or Ebay. They're possibly counterfeit. With as cheap as these batteries are, they're the last thing you'd ever want to skimp on.

Good level for a pair of HG2's. :)

@Weedity, if you're going to be down closer to 100W @djren12 and @TheRac25 have the right idea...go with the 3000mAh LG HG2's or Samsung 30Q's. If you want to get above that much, 120W or higher, I still recommend the VTC4's.

I just can't figure out WHY
What's so appealing about +100 watts?
It's easier to get good flavor a 7 watts then it is at 70. Surly fried throat isn't the goal.
Is it just the 'look at me" factor?

Some may be embarrassed in certain circles saying they vape at 7-8 watts. High 5s all around for super low ohms and high power...

Inquiring minds really would like to know WHY.
for some the visual is just as good as the taste..meaning they get just as much pleasure from blowing huge smoke clouds as they do form the good taste of the flavor..so if i can get the same flavor from 75 watts that i do from 10 watts but at 75 i get those huge smoke clouds then why not? sure their are some that dont care for the clouds and there is nothing wrong with that..

I never thought I would try it, but I did last week. I have a new tank that has the airflow to do it. I put a quad coil build in it. And wanted to see how high it could go. 100Ws was all I had to work with and it kept up. I like it best between 50-60Ws though. That's still the highest power I've ever run.
