Welcome. :thumb: I've found 100% VG way too thick and syrupy to wick well in anything I've tried it in (though others may have had different results). You'll probably have to cut it somewhat with some distilled water to make it wickable. It doesn't take much to thin it out so it'll soak into the wicking material better. You'll have to experiment around to see what works for you.

You would start getting dry hits (burnt taste and burning sensation in throat), if the juice were too thick to properly wick up to the coil(s). It's not going to hurt anything (in the sense of creating danger), though it may scorch your wick material, which would require rewicking in a rebuildable tank or popping in a new coil assembly in a tank that uses ready-made coils (not sure which comes with the Pico kit).

I like 100% vg but I’ve had to to use distilled water sometimes, the viscosity is too much for some tanks to handle.
If the juice flow is large enough to incorporate higher wattage sub ohm vaping then usually you’re alright.

I sometimes have difficulties on only 1 or 2 very tight tanks.
My kayfun lite has been keeping up! but sometimes it will have issues.
The gem can’t really keep up with any kind of chain vaping. It needs a while between puffs to feed.

That's probably my problem. I pretty much chain vape constantly, except when at work or sleeping or showering. If I could find a way to vape while sleeping and showering, I'd probably vape then too. :D

I have a 2ml tank with a 0,3 ohm coil. i usually vape at around 45 watt. i dont know if that helps?

It looks like the kit comes with the Eleaf Mello III Mini tank. I'm not familiar with that one, so I can't comment, but maybe someone else has experience with it.

edit: If 80/20 is working okay for you, it appears that the tank can wick high VG juice well enough. I'd put some 100% VG juice in a small, maybe 10ml, bottle and then add a few drops of distilled water to it, give it a shake, and see how it goes. If you get any burnt taste, add a few more drops to the bottle, empty out your tank, refill with the further diluted mixture, wait a minute for the thinner juice to soak into the wick, and try again.

I vaped at pretty much max VG (other than flavors) in some pretty tiny MTL tanks. Airflow, wicking technique (I would keep inhaling a few seconds after stopping pressing the fire button, to help keep juice sucked up into the wick) and tank size and coil capacity do matter. I think you have the Melo III with that tank? It may or may not be able to handle it, but it might.

I did start adding some DW (10%) in my tanks but mainly to lower temperatures (although it did improve the vape, in a lot of ways, including flavor) and with some reluctance, but I'm glad I did it (I am PG sensitive and mainly can't handle too much PG in my vape). Adding a bit of DW will help with tank temperatures and also wicking. My coils started getting much longer life once I made the switch, so weigh in that max VG is going to be harder on any coil than a thinner, more easily wicked liquid. Etc.

Good luck,

Anna

Sorry if I’ve misread but it seems as if only you can find that one out unless someone uses your tank with 100% vg.

Why can’t you just get some to find out?

It’s not a waste of money because you can put a couple drops of distilled water in and it’ll be fine if it doesn’t work.

Welcome to the forum. Are you sensitive or allergic to PG? If not, and "it works fine" why the change? Get a fidget spinner and vape on!
