Why was Supplier Reviews/Positive closed?

What was the reasoning behind closing/archiving positive supplier reviews? That one:

There is no sticky in there announcing the closing or the reason for it.

From what I understand, the reasoning behind that was it was superfluous, as most members post raves about vendors all over the General Discussion and New Members areas already (as well as supplier threads for those that are registered with us).

yup! and with the restrictions placed on negative reviews most vendors don't bother to answer anymore either

Positive Reviews had become Spam Central. I'd better not say any more

We had a pos and neg review board as that seemed a fair and balanced way to roll. It turned out that there is nothing fair and balanced about the web. Now why didn't someone figure that out first??
