I started out using a 80% PG 20% VG solution and it was fine, although the vapor was limited. Now I'm trying a 50/50 solution and finds that it sort of irritates my throat a bit. So I'm wondering if too much VG can irritate throat. I've always thought it was the PG that irritates throat? please advise.

also, what is the optimum ratio of PG and VG, if there is such a thing... By that I mean a default ratio that satisfies the largest amount of people.

Thanks

........ Now I'm trying a 50/50 solution and finds that it sort of irritates my throat a bit. ......

Make sure you're drinking lots of liquids as vg tends to dry you out a little more. Also, it's possible that your equipment isn't wicking the higher vg juice as well as it should.

I use 60/40 pg to vg in most of my mixes. As EddardinWinter said, it just depends on what you like and the equipment you're using. A lot of the carto lovers will stick to thin, clear juices for their cartos.

I have been using mostly a 70pg/30vg ratio and it's great . I have gotten some in the 50/50 and I don't find all that much difference, except for a little bit more vapor, and it's a little thicker. The throat hit seems about the same to me. I've seen vendors that say 70/30 is the best ratio, and I've also seen vendors who say that 50/50 is, but if the 50/50 is irritating your throat, I'd probably go with the higher pg.

SAME juice, SAME flavor, SAME nic content in 2nd one as the 1st one?

Otherwise, no way to narrow down your problem.

coulda been vendor, flavorings, etc in the 2nd juice........

What works for someone else may not work for YOU, so we have to find what works for you, right?

Yi,, I am so confused about the ratio.. 50/50 seems to be good, but I am also experiencing a sensitivity to one of the ingrediants and dont' know which one.. I have very dry lips, rash on my face, very light, can barely see it, somewhat constipated, little breakouts of sores in my scalp, and a vaginal discharge, ( not to be gross), but really, I keep switching from 50/50 to 60/40 to 40/60. I have heard that the PG is more of the problem than the VG, now I see VG can be a problem.. ugh, so annoying, I love to vape and am getting discouraged. My brother in law and friend are experiencing the same thing.. also slight headaches and sores inside the mouth.. any clues?

And again, like the original OP, Quietvibes, people cantell you what works for THEM, but we still won't know what works for YOU.

I have heard that the PG is more of the problem than the VG, now I see VG can be a problem..

Well, VG wasn't a problem for me. How that helps you though, I have no idea. It doesn't help you at all. :)

You're vaping 50/50. So, that means there's a 50 percent chance it's PG problem, and a 50% chance its a VG problem.

And, if its the same vendor, juice, and flavor, then there's also the possibility that it's 100% chance it's the flavoring.

Best to narrow it down, carefully, and do the work so you can get on with vaping.
Same vendor?
Same juice?
Same flavor?
could be the flavorings.

Vape 100% unflavored PG and see what happens. Keep notes.
Vape 100% unflavored VG and see what happens. Keep notes.
then try 100% PG with flavoring and then 100% VG with flavoring (same vendor, same flavor, same juice, same nic).

This is basically how to do an elimination test.
