I smoked pretty much everything, Hookah, cigars, menthol, cigs, you name it. Socially only for a long time, but then I found myself sneaking packs home to smoke during the day. One random day I was sitting outside and my wifes phone buzzes. It's sitting next to me so I let her know she got a message, and shes asks me to check it for her. It's a email for "Free Sapphire e-cig kit!" It catches my interest, I do some research, I see it's a scam, but I keep DOING research and the whole e-cig thing really catches my eye. Finally I make my first purchase about 8 months ago (a vision spinner and a mini nova) and as of today I still haven't smoked and now have a wide assortment of mods and tanks, and have converted 5 friends as well.

Alright, lets start off with the fact that i started smoking when i was 15. Im now 30, ive been trying to quit for such a long time ive tried almost everything at my disposal to no avail. me and my wife were constantly trying to figure out ways to quit. But after a deep conversation about the fact that we didnt truly WANT to quit and that we enjoyed smoking we admitted defeat. the only reason we really wanted to quit was because of the cost we actually liked it. a few weeks after that conversation we went to hang out at the pool with some friends and two of our friends who are a couple were vaping. we asked them about it and they started explaining EVERYTHING to us. that night i went home and and scoured the internet research PG and VG and health related risks and benefits and costs. the next morning i sat down with my wife and explained everything to her and told her " hey, even if we went and got our starter kits right now we would pay less than we would for the rest of the pay period on cigarettes(between the 2 of us we smoked 2 packs a day at $5.50 a pack.)So we went down to one of our local vape shops and got our starter kits. we went home and pulled out our smokes. we had half a pack left. we made a pact that we would smoke the rest of that pack and never smoke cigarettes again. we finished that pack and never looked back. weve now been vaping for over a month and we never looked back. this was the easiest switchover i had ever experienced. no cravings, no worries. i can still "smoke" like i enjoy, i get higher VG levels to make the vapor thicker. weve saved so much money and im in love with the flavors. i wouldnt go back for anything. a few weeks after switching i felt like i was wolverine. i started smelling much stronger and food was delicious. i can run down the stairs now with out having to catch my breath. its like a wonderland....filled with vape clouds lol.

You guys have interesting stories. We should make a book out of them all! What would we call it?

How about: "Confessions of a Former Smoker... or, How I Learned to Kick the Butts, and Love the Vape!!"

(with my apologies to a certain 60's movie title... ;) )

"How I learned to Kick the Butts, and Love the Vape" I like that one. I bet a book exclusively for former smoker stories would be pretty cool. I don't think it's been done yet :p

I switched to ecigs because when I used to smoke my 3yr old would always tell me to stop and tell me it was yucky. Then one day at daycare I assume one of the teachers or other kids told him smoking kills, later that day I was smoking and he told me to stop like he usually does and i just told him no, then he looked at me and said " daddy stop smokin, you ready die, you cant play with me"

I was a 1/2 pack day smoker for almost 30 years. Briefly I had quit for periods as long as 6 months or a year but I always returned to smoking.

4 1/2 years ago I was cruising the Internet and came across E-cigarettes. I was intrigued, did some research and bought a cigalike kit for $50.00. Within a week of buying the kit, I've never smoked another cigarette.

I feel so much better both mentally [Always felt Guilty for Smoking] and physically [Just all around feel better]

Since then I've upgraded to much more advanced e-cigs and become a hobbyist. I don't' smoke and don't have the slightest desire to smoke.

I have been a smoker pretty much since I was 12. Have quit a few times for short periods but stress always won and I'd go back. A group of my coworkers decided to quit and they were using ecigs. I had bought one a year before but stopped using it. I did some research found out how to use ejuice with my little G2 and decided to try it. Have not had a real cigarette since Oct 1. For my one month celebration I got myself a Talon. Couldn't be happier!
