Sorry if there is something in here about it but my searches have come up with nothing.

Basicly what i want to do is make a variable voltage box that hooks to a usb hub. Then plug my straght threw USB passthru to the mod. would like it to go from 3.3 or 3.5 to 5.37 volts. i say 5.37 volts because thats the output of my usb hub. It is also a 2 amp hub. really could be 5 volts if thats easyer. So basically my main question is what pot would i have to use for this and maybe a resistor. So if we have any electrical engineers reading your input and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't know about trimmers and such (I leave that to others, I just copy what they do!) but I have successfully made straight USB passthroughs with a normal 510 atty that worked just fine...

What are you trying to vary the voltage to?

I already have made a straight passthru it works fine. But am am stuck at 5 volts with it. Just want to beable to dial it to what ever i want from 3.5 to 5 volts for some verity. I for sure dont like running my LR atties @ 5 volts but my regulars seem ok there maybe even a little less 4.7 or maybe even lower.

Not sure why folks would want something that complicated.

My Fistpack is multivoltage, and I can use it as a passthru as well. The Tekkmod is the same.

Problem solved.

Basically i was thinking i could just slap this together really quick today with maybe needing a 99 cent resistor. I wasnt looking to spend 200 for a fistpack or 120 for a Tekmod. Although thats put together i guess you could save some bucks by buying a do it yourself kit. Really what i am trying to do is pretty easy and not complicated at all.

Though I'm not too familiar with the chip, I'm fairly certain that the evercool uses a step-down regulator who's max output voltage is Vin-0.4V or something similar.

Simply put it won't be able to provide higher than your input voltage, and in many cases the max voltage is a little less than your input.
So it would work fine if 5V is your max desired.
With that said the evercool specs should work find fine if you just replace the input.

The Fistpack uses a booster with a 3.7V input. Assuming the booster will take a 5V input you should be able to wire something similarly as a passthrough.

If you ask nicely I'm sure Bigblue will be happy to help you a bit on a new version of his design.

If the pot you have is a similar as you have described, it should work fine as a replacement for the one Blue used.

If you want a very simple circuit with just a pot and a switch, you'll need a very low resistance ranged pot. Something with a range of 0 to 2 ohms. It will also need to be rated for your power draw. Often the tiny ones aren't.

Yeah thanks , i found a 15% off code the free shipping wouldnt work because it is not over 25 bucks, But still a nice deal no way i could build something like that for the price. 6 to 30 volts input i will just pig tail off my 850 watt Computer PSU with 12 volts plug my straight thru into the usb port and be vaping at what ever voltage i want. Might even work up a portable battery pack and go semi portable with it.

The output of your hub without a load attached is basically meaningless. You say it's 2 amps. With USB connections you are probably getting about 1.9A (tops) to your atty. You didn't mention your atty, but 1.9A will drive a Joye 510 at about 4.1V while vaping.

I already have made a straight passthru it works fine. But am am stuck at 5 volts with it. Just want to beable to dial it to what ever i want from 3.5 to 5 volts for some verity. Again if your LR atty is 1.5Ω your 2A hub will drive it to maybe 3V. Certainly no where near 5V.
