USB Passthru's Why do they use a battery?

Somehow, having something made of metal hanging from my lips and/or fingers,
with the other end hardwired up to a wall wart powered by AC voltage/current
doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
(although it just might if the same thing happens to it, that happened to this passthru..)
I'd feel 'safer' using my batteries to vape with, and my AC devices for charging ONLY.

Forgive me, but I just got my 510 today and am still absorbing info...

Am I correct to assume that if I had a wall charger as mentioned in previous posts, I could remove the inline batt and vape at 5V???

It's more than just removing the battery since that would break the circuit. The passthrough would have to be rewired so that the circuit no longer had the battery in it.
