Well, you could grind a cone down until it's basically a threaded ring. Of course, that would require a power tool.

Hey, J, see UncleChuck's post. Turns out that the threaded ring can be separated from the cone; no power tools required!

No problem!

Whenever I use the atty with my eGo battery, I really don't like the cone, for some reason. But, as you said, there is the issue with the cone's threads being exposed. Well, I guess this solves the problem.

I was going to take some pics to show you, but unfortunately I don't have a cam.
