Travel Case for an Ego?

Hi Everyone,
This has most likely been asked before, but I will ask again...
Going on a trip to Mexico, and wondering if I should just put
the batteries in my camera case and the rest of the Ego stuff
in my briefcase to carry through Customs? I am so new to this
that I don't even know how to travel with one...
Thought I asked you all, because you all don't seem to "hard"
on these stupid questions...Thanks for any help..
