I would like to thank all the vapers whocompleted our online survey (over 6,745). Our first publication based onanalysis of part of that data set has just been published. You can read thepress release here: E-cigarettes less addictive than cigarettes Penn State Hershey Newsroom
The summary of the report can be found here: Development of a questionnaire to assess dependence on electronic c... - PubMed - NCBI
The survey is still live and I would like toencourage vapers/e-cig users who have not yet completed it to do so. We plan toconduct ongoing analyses of the data and are particularly interested in hearingfrom people using “cigalike” styles of e-cigs and also people who live in the CentralPennsylvania area who may be interested in participating in our laboratorystudy (though this is not necessary and those not wishing to volunteer cancomplete the survey anonymously). Details and link available below.
Researchers from Penn State University are conducting anonline survey to improve understanding of electronic cigarettes. Electroniccigarette users may complete the survey anonymously, or can provide contactdetails at the end if interested in participating in a laboratory study ofelectronic cigarette use. Please click on the link below to complete the survey.

What about those of us using 2nd or 3rd generation type devices like myself.

We encourage all e-cig users to participate in the research. We have found that over 80% of those participating so far are usng 2nd or 3rd generation devices. In order to compare the different types we need more volunteers who are using cigalikes, and in order to participate in the lab studies you need to be within driving distance of Hershey or State College. But as I stated, the more people who complete the survey, the better.

IMHO, you are not going to find many "cigalike" users on this site from what I have seen. Granted, there may be people who are not members but just read this forum.

I have been answering questions every day in the new member forum for the past 6+ months. Most members don't recommend "cigalites" UNLESS the user is dead set on that form factor.
