Hello,

Recently i got Sony VTC6, I m not sure how to verify the battery because my QR reader is not able to read the code on the battery.

Also, as you can see in the images, the battery wrapping is lil peeled on the positive side, i m not sure if this is a big issue or not and whether it is safe to use it or not.

My mod is regulated.

Thanks

No matter whether your mod is regulated or not, if a wrap is damaged, you need to replace it. That's exceptionally important on the positive end, because that's where the magic fireworks will happen, when something goes wrong. If your charger is prone to damaging the wraps, I'd add a second wrap.

Whether your cell is genuine or not, can only be discerned, when you remove the wrap. And even then you can't be 100% sure.

I'm with my deutscher kollege 100% on this one. Apart from the positive terminal at the top, the entire outer casing is the negative terminal of the battery. The role of the plastic wrap is to provide physical protection and to electrically isolate the case. Even a tiny nick in the battery's wrap can have serious consequences.
The wrap on yours is not too badly damaged, but if was you I would replace it as soon as possible. It's easy and cheap, I have included a link below to a tutorial.

Unfortunately fake batteries can be very difficult to spot. The best way to guarantee a genuine cell is to purchase them from a trusted reputable vendor. I have included below a list of known and respected vendors.

Just from what I can see from your pictures,,, to me, it doesn't appear to be any split, tear, crack or damage to the insulating properties of the wrap.

Looks like typical finger nail marks from removing cells from charger or spring tension tray/sled power device.

If in person you can see any metal showing, rewrap.
