So I was wondering about the paint

What kind is it and can it be buffed off with sanding and buffing it out to a shine

I'm pretty sure they are anodized, not painted. They do have a tumbled raw that you could sand and buff...

Robert is doing his own anodizing and also a powder coat finish.

If you want a REO to polish you can get it tumbled raw. They will polish up to a mirror finish!
