Smok Zmax Center Pin O-Ring issue

New Guy here.....I'm sure there are plenty of other threads on this issue.....but I am stuck as to how to get my center pin "high enough" to remove the original o-ring and replace it with the new one. My Zmax keeps reading anywhere from sub ohms to 9.9.

And I have tried with my glasses repair kit screwdrivers....all I've been able to do is wiggle the center post back and forth, making it come up just a little. Is the center pin more sturdy than I think? Can it take a little more abuse?

For 20 bucks buy a new board.
