He then goes on to state that the lungs would be uncomfortable because the vapor would be so hot. Classify that as a General Concept Error? Vapor is cool in temperature.
Yeah I wouldn't try holding a battery powered on for that long...something is guaranteed to fail.
I understand (I think) why they did it that way. For studies with smokes, they lit it, and burnt the entire thing to be analyzed. Figure out tar, nic, etc etc per smoke. It's just not the same with e-cigs at all.
