The anti-vaping war is likely to continue, even pick up pace, now that the elections are done. Of particular concern are local or state-level initiatives to tax vapor products, re-define vaping as smoking, and ban or restrict sales, flavors, indoor use, etc: Legislation News. I for one am sick of playing last-minute defense and propose we go on a massive offense before such ordinances are even attempted. I think we need to pick a few targets to be made examples of and unleash a massive and public campaign to expose the lies and propaganda and articulate that their intended consequence is the perpetuation of smoking, thus attempted murder of the public whose health ANTZ are pretending to care about.

We already know that prohibitionist efforts are not guided by an interest in public health, but rather are cold, calculated and systematic attempts to kill us by imposing arbitrary and onerous rules that would push vapers back to smoking and prevent/discourage current smokers from switching to vaping. See this article for an eloquent discussion: Stubbing out e-cigarettes will condemn smokers to death - Independent.ie

On the other hand we have hard scientific data that vaping has a positive impact on public health, that could save millions of lives in the immediate future. West & Brown (2014) estimated that for every million smokers who switch from tobacco to e-cigarettes, over 6,000 premature deaths each year would be avoided, even if people continue to use e-cigarettes for life and e-cigarettes are assumed to carry significant risk of fatal diseases. Using West & Brown (2014) estimates, if all 44 million American smokers switched to e-cigarettes, the widely cited number of over 400,000 premature smoking-related deaths per year, could be reduced to 20,000 conservatively, but likely it would be much lower.

Alarmist ANTZ propaganda has spread like a cancer from the local levels all the way up to the global scale, as evidenced by the position of WHO. Public health experts critique of the lies and misinformation (e.g. McNeill et. al) doesn't seem to have much impact. Therefore it's time for vapers to go on the offensive and call out the desk murderers for what they really are on a massive and public scale. I submit we should start a large campaign on social media, addressed directly to these local legislators informing them that their arbitrary prohibitionist actions are tantamount to murder. How about this hashtag

People of this forum may be receptive to this but you might want to know that many in the general public might hear something different. From the second paragraph on -

We already know that prohibitionist efforts are not guided by an interest in public health, but rather are cold, calculated and systematic attempts to kills (blah) us by imposing arbitrary and onerous rules that would push vapers back to smoking (blah blah) and prevent/discourage current smokers from BLAH BLAH BLAH (where is this guy's tin foil hat)

Seriously, please do not tell non-vapors someone is trying to kill us.

While this paper is nice to vapers it does not supply “hard scientific data”, it is an opinion. It is not even peer-reviewed.

Hope your post would not be reprinted by, say, CNN under title "See what crazy vapers think"...
