Washington State legislation would ban the sale of many/most of the least hazardous tobacco/nicotine products, while keeping the most hazardous tobacco products (i.e. cigarettes) legal.
HB 1246 and SB 5380 would ban the sale of:
- all e-cigarettes containing nicotine (because they don't taste or smell like tobacco),
- all smokeless tobacco products packaged in individual use portions (i.e. pouches and dissolvables), and
- all flavored smokeless tobacco, cigars and e-cigarettes.

Please take a look at the bills. Their main argument is that minor's access to tobacco products has increased by 40% but they provide no data to support their argument. They also claim that flavored tabacco products resemble candy. They don't say how it resembles candy. Their arguments are bogus and of course, tobacco cigarettes and nicotine inhalers will be untouched.

Sponsors of the House Bill 1246 are: Cody, Harris, Dunshee, Green, Seaquist, Van De Wege, Appleton, Clibborn, Walsh, Johnson, Roberts, Jinkins, Kenney, Billig
