Pharmaceutical companies announced they were developing an 'ecig' last year

I can only speak for myself in saying that if the only options before me were (A) buying a BP-manufactured, FDA-approved, thoroughly emasculated PV from the pharmacy at CVS, or (B) buying a pack of Malboro Menthol 100s at essentially the same or less per-day cost, I'd inevitably choose the latter.

I agree. Except for the menthol part. Marlboro reds for me.

I'm sure somehwere down the line BP will come up with something that mimmicks the ecig now.

Not sure where this will put current ecigs-they may have to become part of BP or stay where they are and be labled as not as safe an alternative as the BP product.

Guarenteed for years, there BT and BP and some enterprenuers are working on the next "biggest" thing.

All I have to say is it should be convienent, affordable and as easily attainable as tobacco cigarettes, otherwise, the product defeats the purpose of substituting tobacco. Those three things are essential to the tobacco smoker that cannot knock the habit and needs an alternative. Money will not be made to it's highest potential otherwise.
