FYI, I will have an additional K24 and MR on hand within a week to verify the consistency of build quality between units. Offhand, the K24 I reviewed was serialized in the 2000 range. The incoming K24 will be serialized in the 7000 range. The MR I reviewed stood in the 900s whereas the incoming MR serial is unknown at this point. As to reports of the Teflon finish of the MR flaking, I can confirm its veracity: The coating tends to chip along the bottom edge of the atomizer and along the edges of the AFC ring. The Gunmetal finish is an oxide conversion coating which can only be removed through further electrochemical treatment. Both finishes have their merits and drawbacks in that while the Teflon finish is more resistant to abrasion, the Gunmetal is more or less immune to chipping/flaking.
