We have a new forum template now (aka the skin or theme), you might have seen it when viewing the site logged out as it is now the default skin. When you are logged-in you will still see the skin you have set as your personal choice though.
If you want to see the new one or change to it, go to the bottom left hand corner of forum pages and hit the spin box there, choose ECF 1 and you'll get the new one. To change back, just select what you were on before (probably Kirsch). There are also some dark background ones there if you prefer that.
The new skin has some extra buttons at the top, plus some code changes to assist page loading speed. Give it a try.
