Techno: I haven't read the book, but have it ready to go when I've finished what I'm reading now. The musical is sensational - I recommend you see it as soon as it plays nearby. I'm kind of in love with my avi too

Techno and Elpha - I didn't know there was a book on the Wiz! I've never seen it either (like Techno), but I love to read. I hope the book is as good as what I've heard about the musical.

It's written by a different guy to who did "Wizard of Oz" (who was Frank Baum) and apparently there is a whole series. My friend has been reading them with her 10 year old daughter.

Wicked is a great book, though quite different from the musical. Different tone, somewhat different story (though there's enough to see that it's the same idea). Both are really something, in their own ways.

Loved the book Wicked, and haven't started the other Son of a Witch yet. When I have a moment to start it, I won't put it down till I finish.

My Dad bought me those Wizard of Oz books when I was a kid too. I still have 2 of them. I think I will get Wicked for my Kindle & have it ready to go when I finish the 3 books I'm reading right now...Perhaps we'll have to start a Wizard of Oz/Wicked thread so we can all discuss it over in the Lounge!
