Kumiho Thoth T
1.jpg
I don't know if any of you remember that about half a year ago I did a review about the Kumiho Model V, at that time, that was the first pod-type device from this brand. However, they have continued to produce and design new systems and today I bring you one of them. In this case I present to you the Kumiho Thoth T, a POD type device with a square shape and a quite striking retro style.

Thanks to Sue from Healthcabin for making this review possible, you can visit her page and learn more about the Kumiho Thoth T.

Packaging

The Thot T comes in a rectangular box that combines black with orange, giving a quite elegant and striking tone at the same time. One detail that I love about the packaging is the small window they leave so you can see the device up close without even opening the box.

At the top we find some branding, we are shown both the brand and the model of the product. At the bottom we find some key features, which we will see later if they are fulfilled or, on the contrary, not.

On the back of the box we are presented, as usual, with the content itself. In addition, some warning and certain contact addresses with Kumiho are added. Finally, we can see a QR code to scan and a barcode, which also shows the color of the product, in this case Jungle Green.

In the box
1* Thoth T Device
1* Thoth Series 0.8Ω Mesh Pod
1*User Manual
1*Metal Lanyard

As soon as we open the box we can see the device in the foreground and a small box, all resting on a pad with custom-made sockets.

The packaging gives me both sensations of elegance and attractiveness, it is a bipolar sensation, on the one hand I notice something of luxury in it and on the other hand something of fun, of attractiveness.

Device Inspection

The product has a square shape, which I love. Devices like this, like the Argus P1/P2 and so on, really attract me because of their compact and square shape. The brand tries to provide a radio-shaped device, which seeks above all the retro style, the old style and, I think they have achieved it in spades.

Before continuing to analyze this beautiful front part, I must talk about the construction materials and the paint of the Thot T. Already in hand, it feels like a fairly heavy device, it gives us a feeling of rigidity and solidity. We find practically no plastic in its entire structure apart from the cartridge and the central area, which is made of some type of rubber. According to the manual, the device is created with Zinc Alloy, hence those sensations. On the other hand, I love the painting or decorative design of this Thot T. It is a color between matte and not at the same time and in addition, we can notice flakes of paint around the entire device.

Now, in the upper left part we find the silver button with some fairly simple functions;
- 5 Clicks will turn the device on or off.
- It can be used as a puff button (double operation).

On the other hand, in the upper right area we find what they call a spinner. My question is, was it really necessary to place it? I mean, don't get me wrong, I entertain myself with him from time to time so why lie, but I don't think it was necessary.

As for the rest, I can't say anything more about aesthetics, I think it is a very good and attractive design, I love retro things and this device has achieved it.

On one of the sides we can find the adjustable air inlet. It is made up of three holes placed in order, the upper one being the largest and the lower one the narrowest. Thanks to this we can obtain a fairly precise and good MTL, especially with the appropriate pods for it. For the rest, if you open it completely you cannot get a DL, but instead you will get an RDL. Here everyone vapes as they want and will adjust this according to their preferences. If you want to get a more powerful hit, I recommend closing it, since it grows exponentially.

From this perspective we can also see the shape of the Thoth T again. As you can see, there are practically no curves here, they are right angles, something that I admire a lot and that, I thought would be uncomfortable in hand but, it is quite the opposite, it is feels pretty good.

On the other side we have the charging port, which will charge the 1300mAh battery at 5V/1A according to the product specifications. Given this, it will take 1 hour and 30 minutes to fully charge, not bad but I wish they had implemented 2A fast charging for this type of device. Even so, we are assured of better battery life by charging it this way.

Just above the charging port we find the lanyard support. Kumiho has had the beautiful detail of adding a metal lanyard, like a kind of chain to hang it around the neck. It is very comfortable and seems quite resistant, I really appreciate the detail of it.

I feel obliged to show this back part to show you the decoration. I love the numbers on the bottom and the little stripes. We also find some branding with the Kumiho brand in the upper area.

I almost forgot to tell you about these cartridges. Specifically, we find the low ohms (0.6, 0.8 and 1.0) with a tint. However, the 1.2Ω comes clear. They accept a total of 3mL through the lower liquid inlet, which, as you can see, is as simple as removing the silicone flap and filling with liquid. Finally, as usual, they are connected to the body using magnets, which are rigid and strong enough to prevent the pod from wobbling.

Vaping Time
Before starting, let's briefly talk about the feel in hand, the battery and general performance.

As for the battery, I must say that it is a pretty good one. Let's keep in mind that this device packs a 1300mAh battery. It lasted perfectly one day for me, I emphasize that it was not with the higher power pods. To this we add that it does not have a screen and that means longer battery life.

As for the feeling in hand, its materials in combination with its shape make it very comfortable. The weight itself, as I mentioned before, gives us the feeling that it is a durable and quality device.

As for its general performance, I felt very good. Virtually all pods have a very good flavor and produce good vapor. One thing that is missing is some power control, it is true that it does not bother me that it is not there, but I would appreciate some power control, even by levels, to be able to further adjust the vaping experience.

Last but not least, I am going to give my conclusions about the coils. I must say that I have not found anything about the power of each coil, so we will assume, as is usual and logical, that the lower the Ω, the greater the power.

0.6Ω; This coil was my favorite. Together with the airflow opened to the maximum, it provides us with an RDL puff full of flavor. Those at Kumiho have worked quite well and have focused on flavor production, which I admire. I have little more to say about this coil, it is quite balanced in terms of vapor and flavor.

0.8Ω; This coil has very few differences from the previous one. I would simply combine it with a somewhat more closed airflow. The good thing about it is that by requiring less power, it will use less battery.

1.0Ω; We are approaching MTL vaping. I advise you to close the air inlet quite a bit to obtain the best results with this coil. Although I used it with freebase, I think it would be quite suitable for nicotine salts. The little power it uses will make the battery last a full day more than enough.

1.2Ω; This is the definitive coil for nicotine salts, although I emphasize, I did not use it with salts, but I think its purpose is close to that use. It is a coil with a very very close draft, thus achieving a perfect MTL.

In terms of flavor, they are all more or less balanced, there is no one that stands out above the other, it is simply a matter of preferences and tastes when vaping.

Pros And Cons
Pros
Cons
Beautiful And Retro Design
Only 1 Cartridge Included
Flavourful Coils
Charging Could Be Faster
Great Battery Life
Dual Activation
Lanyard Included

Conclusion
I must admit that this Thoth T has surprised me quite a bit. Just like what happened to me with the Model V from months ago. I think Kumiho has a secure place in the vaping industry and I think its products have a lot of quality. That said, it is a very good starter pod. I would like to see some mod/atomizer from this brand to see how they perform outside their comfort zone.
