I found a place selling an all in one Bolt Kit. It includes the following for $80.

1x The Bolt Body-with black plastic button
2x 18500 1500mAh batteries
1x Trust Fire Charger
1x 6ml DC tank 1.5ohm Black
1x 3.5ml DC tank 1.5ohm Black
3x Replacment DC tank Cartomizers 1.5ohm
2x Clear Drip Tips

I'm wondering if this is a good place to start for my first mech mod and is it a good price?!?

Thanks!!

I use a trustfire charger as my only charger. I've been very happy with it - it definitely gets the job done. Using it for a little over 6months now and no issues or complaints.

The bolt is not a true mech tho. If I wanted a lower end but still nice mech I would go with smok magneto or natural. Should cost around $45 and they are decently made and work well. I have a $20 empire clone which a lot of people like ....but I think it's ugly and cheap looking. I much prefer my magneto.

Get some decent batteries - like aw imr.

Also beware of included tanks - they often suck. If you're a new vaper and not currently using dual coil cartos or carto tanks - are you sure that's what you want? A lot of ppl prefer clearos like protank, evod, etc.

Not saying dct are bad but my first kit included 2 and I never got much use out of them. Would've been money ahead to buy pv seperately and then get the accessories I really wanted.

Personally I think the price is a bit high for this. I'm not prepared to price out the tanks, drip tips etc., but I would want to get another charger than that one right off the bat. I don't know what the batteries are but I bet they aren't the best either since often these type set ups don't come with good batteries (some do though so I'm not saying ALL; just judging based on the charger).

If you like this device I'd shop around & purchase things separately. You may or may not spend less but you'll get quality on the things that are important, like the batteries & charger.

edit: Also as others have said this is a semimichanical mod & not a true mechanical since it has wiring for the switch. If you want a true mech there are other options like the Magneto that are well received so you might want to look into one of these.

so let us ask this...what is it that you are looking for out of your vaping?

I've heard mixed reviews on the bolt...
in my own opinion there's not much between different make/models, just all about style...but then again I have the same mentality about cars too

keep this in mind though, to each their own...this is your pv, find one that suits your style....you can then customize the rest to your liking.

When picking a battery...color, style, size, to suit what you like ;) as this will hopefully be your one and only device

now that said if you don't care about any of that and are just looking for something that works, we still would need some info on what it is that you like/dislike/wish for to be able to help find something to suit your needs

one thing I will say though...I was warned by many do not get any batteries or chargers with the word "fire" in them....lmfao fire bad ;)
I'd say 80% of the people I've seen have had bad experiences with anything from trustfire, ultrafire, ect __fire

you can also usually shop around for better batteries, chargers, tanks, ect singly and put together your own "kit" for a better price than a preset kit and it would be better suited to you and your needs.

Here is the link where I found the Bolt --> The Bolt Kit - NettMix Custom Vapes

I was only choosing it because it seemed like a decent deal and included everything. I wasn't exactly sure what pieces I would need to make everything work and I figured by getting a kit, I wouldn't have to worry about it. I wasn't sure what tank I would need and what batteries and then what charger for said batteries. It seems quite overwhelming. Plus, they are in the US. I have really considered Fasttech, but the possible 1+ month waiting could get aggravating. For a 2nd or 3rd mod, Fasttech would be perfect because I would already have one. :) Then again I may just go with Fasttech and continue using my iTaste VV while I wait.

For my first mech mod I'm not looking for anything fancy. My requirements would be. I'd like one that is stainless steel or something along those lines, nothing gold. A battery that will last me around 8hrs. I drive around all day for my job and don't want to have to worry about charging, if possible. And the ability to drip when its convenient and have a tank when its not. I'm also looking to stay in the $80-$100 range with everything (mod, batteries, charger and tanks). If I can swing it something with VV/VW would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback so far!!

Since you asked about the Bolt, I think that price is way to high. A bolt at FastTech is about 12 bucks. A charger for about 15 dollars . You can get a few novas or evods and adaapters for a few more dollars. Order your batteries from Madvapes (I've ordered some from ebay and had no problems). I also have no problem with Batteries with the word fire in their brand name. Now that is only if I am using atties at 1.8 ohm or above. If I am using my VV with stacked batteries then only imr Aw's.Someone said the wiring in the head was light. Maybe there are different designs, but I had to pull the posotive connector in mine to replace the isolator (I gotta learn not to torque my novas so tight). The wire was surprisingly heavy and well soldered. I really abused it and it never broke as I installed the isolator. I have a lot of mods and egos but about all I use now is the cheap Bolt. I have 4 more coming now from FT. You can never have to much in the stash drawer.

If it has vv or vw, then it is a regulated mod, not a mechanical. Honestly, the only 2 advantages I see to a mechanical is there is nothing to fail, aside from being ran over by a bus, and you can build sub ohm coils. (which if you don't know what you're doing, this can be a very bad thing.) There's a ton of good regulated mods in your price range. The one's I would say look at would be mvp v2, Vamo, zmax, svd, and the likes. As far as a topper, I would suggest a BCC setup. Depending on which mod you choose, it will say what batteries will work. Nitecore chargers aren't too expensive, and they come recommended from many. Good luck!

itaste has a vv/vw mod
iTaste SVD $38

or there's the Vamo V5 $33

OR you can make any mech mod into a vamo v5 ;) possibly any 510 connection lmfao
Vamo 5S Variable Volt/Watt Control Head for Mechanical Mods $27

This is the charger I use
HUANGAO HG-1210W Dual Channels Li-ion / Li-FePO4 Batteries Charger $8 ;) charges 2 batteries, built in wall charger, comes with usb adaptor and car charger

Depending on your taste there are lot of designs on Fasttech for stainless steel mods

Now tanks....do you like top coil tanks (warmer vape) or bottom coil tanks (cooler vape)? Always go with glass or metal tanks so to not worry with tank cracking juices
3.5ml Silver Vivi Nova $7 top coil tank

3.5 ml Protank Clone $13 bottom coil tank

5ml HyperTank Clone $11 bottom coil tank

as for dripping well....not much help there but can look at Ocelot's Blog for some ideas
Drip, Drip, Drip - The Sound of Dripping

So if you go with either the Itaste or Vamo + Charger + 2 Tanks = high side $72, low side $55 and then find you some good batteries else where for cheap

OR mix and match grab a mechanical mod + the Vamo V5 adapter + charger + 2 tanks = high end = $86 low end = $60 then again find you some good batteries else where for cheap and you now have a mechanical mod + option of using vamo v5 head to have a regulated mod, charger (with usb and car adapt) and two tanks

use the fastech reviews and discussion pages to help decide what's good.
I like the nemesis clone with magnets for a mech mod, and the brass nemesis clone just got good reviews by a someone that was testing mechs for voltage drop. A brass nemesis + magnets (sold separately, buy the 10 pack) costs $25 if you can stand the wait.

For a VW mod, I like innokin, and I like the shape of the VTR.

You should check out the Sigelei #60. It's kickable, durable, pretty decent looking, uses brass contacts, telescopes, and has an adjustable center pin. It's a perfect first mechanical in my opinion.

Sigelei #60 Mechanical Mod - Kidney Puncher

Looks mad similar to a K101, but that's actually good for a first mech mod

I personally started with a K100 and loved it, no issues with it. Just keep in mind with mechanical mods to do your homework on safety measures to take when using them, especially if you plan on getting into rebuildables and doing subohm builds etc. It's better to spend the extra money and invest in better batteries and chargers.
