Help with mod, stripped 510 threads.

I have this very old mod, the threads are stripped in the head. Wondering if there is a steel tape or something else that would hold a 510 to 510 shorty connector, in there besides solder, the mood is aluminum. Please help! Thanks!

No way to know since there's no pictures; but here's one possible solution.

Mod a 510 battery connector and use it as a replacement. Here's a stripped out GGTS connector I repaired using that technique.

Prep the old connector by grinding out the old threads......cut down the new connector to the proper diameter.....friction it tightly into place. Works like it did when it was new.

Dunno what it is.....

I see two possibilites:
The one I posted or replace the connector. But, I wouldn't attempt that unless I KNEW for a fact I had access in the head to run the wiring. I'd friction in new threads because I know that works.

That's just me; maybe someone else has another solution for you.
