Help Stop Washington Senate Bill 6569

Petitions may not hold a lot of sway these days, but it is a small, and easy action we can take to stand against those that oppose us. This bill, among similar others, infuriate me more than anything. Not only do they want to lump all vaping into the tobacco category, they want to tax it at a rate far beyond traditional tobacco products. Obviously this means we are disrupting someone's precious cash flow.

For those of you who are MtBakerVapor fans/customers, stopping bill 6569 is crucially important.

As stated above, the bill is dead and the WA legislative session is closed for the year.

We, rank and file vapers, fought and won this, just search this forum for the old thread on the WA bills (both senate sb6569 and house hb2795).

Tomtherm, most of the real opposition to e-cigarettes is coming from BP and the Government as they stand to lose the most income when we quit buying analogs. BP through the loss of sales of NRTs and the ongoing sales of drugs to those of us with chronic smoking related diseases. They fight through their house pet alphabet groups, ALA, ACS, TFK and so on.

The Government is starting to lose taxes and MSA money as more switch to e-cigarettes so they are working through the FDA and by legislation to try and stop the sales of them.

Although the e-cig tax bill in WA is dead, its sponsors are working behind the scenes to generate more support to tax e-cigs so they can reintroduce a bill either during a special session later this year or for next year's legislative session.
