So basically, i just changed coils on my rda, then when I was dry hitting it (60w). An electric blue spark was coming from the corner bottom (every time i was hitting the button, shown on pictures)

Hi mate.
That is the base or the deck, not the "top", but I digress.

Remove the build. Fire the device. Any sparks?
The symptoms sound like an insulator problem or perhaps a poorly made clone.
What is the rda?
How old is it?
Has it been used with builds below .15Ω?
Is the 510 screw tight?
Was the RDA recently washed?
Have you taken the unit to bits and inspected the components?

Welcome to the ECF.
Cheers

Hi ThisIsSad. Welcome to the ECF.

Sparks are Definitely Not a Good Thing.

I would Pull the Build and then Check to make sure the 510 Connector is Tightened.
Get out a Magnifying Glass and Check to see if a Piece of a Snipped Off Coil Leg hasn't dropping into the Base of the RDA.
Give the Entire Deck a Good Flushing with Warm Water. Then a Good Dry.
Then Recheck with a Magnifying Glass

Is this the 1st Time you have used this RDA?

Hi Izan

I removed the build and there was no sparks (might be because the mod, I think it can notice if there is a build on or not). The mod just said "check atomizer".

The atomizer is hellvape's drop dead rda. And the mod is the Vaperesso gen mod(220w)
They are both about 4-5 months old.
The build have always been:
0,28 Ohm (26Gx2)*(36GA)
  • Estimated resistance:
    • Single coil: 0,24 ohm (±0,05 ohm)
    • Dual coil: 0,12 ohm (±0,05 ohm)
. I usually vape on 60w
It havn't been recently washed no.
No i havn't taken the unit to bits and inspected the components

But I tightened the 510 as you asked if I did and removed the build and put it back. And it seems like the problem is fixed. But if you notice that there still might be a problem that might not be fixed by what I just wrote. Please write again.

Thx for the help

Hi zoiDman

So i did tightened the 510 screw and it's seems to be fixed.
I even checked with a Magnifying Glass just in case, found no Piece of a Snipped Off Coil Leg.

No it's not the first time using this atmozier, had it for about 4-5 months.

Thank you again for the help

Tho I'm wondering if there would be a problem if I use a build under .15Ω? Just curious after you mentioned it. :)

Some devices use less than optimal materials for insulators.
Dry burning and/or over heating can cause the insulators to deteriorate and in some cases they simply melt.
A current era, "branded" RDA/RTA should have Peek or similarly robust insulators.
A clone may possibly be constructed with inferior materials.

I hope that explains my question.
