Never buy a battery with Fire in the name. NO KIDDING I find that they are for the most part not what they claim to be. Some of the fire brands especially Ultrafire have been caught recycling batteries and just putting a new skin on it. Spend the extra money on the Sony. Sony is the leader in quality and safety. Spend the extra 20-30% more and get a battery you won't be tossing out in 3-6 months.

The main problem with using that trustfire battery (besides the low quality of that brand) is the fact that it is not a high drain battery. The DNA30 can draw up to 12 amps from a battery and that trustfire battery might be able to output 3 amps if your lucky. When pushed to hard that kind of battery has been known to catch fire and vent. The sony battery that they recommend is a 30 amp battery which will output that 12 amps without breaking a sweat.

The trustfire battery might work at lower power settings, but I personally wouldn't risk such an expensive mod over a $10 battery.

Several reasons to NOT go with a Trustfire:

  • Trustfire, Surefire, & Ultrafire are all brands that are inferior in quality. Don't be fooled by the advertised mAh rating; they are exaggerated in order to entice unknowing customers into thinking their battery is superior to the better name-brand batteries (AW, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, and Sanyo).

  • The Trustfire is an ICR Li-Ion battery chemistry. Li-Mn chemistry, or IMR batteries are high-drain, safe-chemistry batteries and are the only type of battery that you should use in any mod.

  • The Sony batteries are a ultra-high amp (30 amps) battery. This is why they are recommended for a high-wattage mod.

  • There's more to picking a good battery than just choosing the one with the higher mAh rating. Do your research and learn what battery to use in the specific application you will use them. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/batteries-chargers/546143-batteries-chargers-multi-meters-forum.html
