FDA/NCI funded researchers at Rutgers find DHHS’ fear mongering propaganda campaign against very low risk e-cigs, snus and smokeless tobacco, and low risk cigars and hookah (to lobby for the TCA and FDA’s proposed Deeming Regulation) has deceived many/most young adults to inaccurately believe those products are as harmful as cigarettes; journal and authors falsely insinuate (in press release) that e-cigs and hookah are as harmful as cigarettes, deceitfully repeat disproved lie that informing smokers about different product’s risks “may not encourage smokers to switch to products but instead encourage new product uptake for both smokers and nonsmokers”.

The study also found that 18-24 year olds were more likely than 25-35 year olds to correctly believe that e-cigs and hookah are less harmful than cigarettes (which was the press release headline, but in a negative context).

Percent of US 18-35 year olds that correctly believe the following are “less risky” than cigarettes
(58% e-cigarettes, 10% snus, 7% smokeless tobacco, 14% cigars, 24% hookah)

Percent of 18-35 year olds that incorrectly believe the following are “more risky” than cigarettes
(5% e-cigarettes, 22% snus, 32% smokeless tobacco, 33% cigars, 14% hookah)

This latter finding may be very important (as "more risky" appears to be a more established, trusted and more difficult to change belief than "less risky").

Bill, you're being entirely too diplomatic. When articles like this are published, they aren't "Deceptively Insinuating" anything.
They're using a sensational headline, and twisting the truth to fit their own agenda.
I'd call that LYING

The study itself wasn't that bad. It was the press release promoting the study that contained many false and misleading statements, including its intentionally deceptive headline.

This is precisely what many FDA funded researchers have done. Their press releases and statements to the news medias misrepresent their study's findings to promote FDA's regulatory agenda (and to obtain more FDA funding for themselves).

At what point does liability become an issue for these people?
The second the agency was formed until the second the people unite and nullify them.
It's no surprise that unconstitutional agencies fight unconstitutionally. That's their game. What's ours?
Those who are tired of these games, should join the nullification brigades and take their power back. It's your choice. Feed the monster or draw a line and deal with it at the heart. What About the States? | Tenth Amendment Center

Ha! That might end up being their best bet for not being held accountable.

Not so fast.... beyond the lack of empathy, they are otherwise very rational beings. They do understand that they shouldn't run red lights and hit pedestrians on the crossing, and that, if caught, they will get put in jail for doing such. They just won't have any compassion for the victims, not any more than you would have for a cockroach you crush in your kitchen. And they will do their best at not getting caught (no chance that they would confess out of remorse).

This is completely different than the nut that thinks he's Napoleon and the pedestrians are the tzar's army and he would get eternal glory through defeating them.
