Drilling out areotank airflow

Hi all I am waiting for my B&M to get the new v2 airflow in. I read somewhere here to drill out the v1 to 1/16" I can't find that thread. I believe the airflow system is a compressed fit. Do I just drill out the 3 small holes on the outer ring? I tried to find a youtube video but came up blank. Can someone who has done this give me some pointers on do's and don'ts please?

I have drilled out the ones with the treads. The one with out the threads does not need it as you are limited by the hole on the head.
