Cutting down a DC tank?

I have this really sweet DC tank from MyVaperStore.com...but I also use a Lavatube. The built in safety doesn't work well with dual coils..sort of locks the voltage down around 3.9 or so and I prefer the 4.5 to 5 range. So I'm switching back to single SR/HR cartos. I still want to use my tank though. So what is the best way to cut one of these down so it still looks and performs well?

Could just get a 510-510 adapter to use as an extension to make the standard carto long enough to fit your tank. Or look at "mega" style cartoa as some of them are just as long as a dcc.

Pipe cutter from your local hardware store. I wrap some tape around a socket until it is a nice fit inside the tube and then cut away.

A wooden dowel inside the tank also would help to hold its structure for a clean cut. Xl cartos will work as replacements. I use boge xl 3.0 ohm in my dct instead of dual coil, and my lavatube loves me for it.

I'd personally go for for an single core XL, Smoktech makes one known by many as the Ressurector and Boge makes an XL now.

I've cut DC tanks by using a dremel cutting wheel to get it close then using a file to get it down the rest of the way and even it out. Not the quickest way but it works and what I had.

I cut mine with a Rigid tubing cutter made for cutting plastic tubing. Works great! Not really worth it to buy one just to cut a tank or two though. Kinda pricey. I leave the end caps in for support.

XL cartos are an option if size is not an issue. I cut my 3.5 DCT down to use standard Boge 2.0s. Now it's a 2ml shorty on an eGo batt.

Here it is next to a 6ml with an XL. Both are Boge cartos.

why not just cut the looped wire inside the DC carto?

when you cut the wire, your just killing off one of the coils...

makes for a nice vape too

i did this to remaining cartos that i had before i switched over to a different brand.

I just used an Xacto, and used the cartomizer as a level Worked JUST fine. It's like 1mm in a few small spots, but doesn't leak at all.
