Credit card theft after Fast Tech purchase

I made a purchase from fasttech.com this morning and within an hour or so Citibank notified me that several suspicious charges had been made. I rarely use my Citibank card and they believe my card was compromised somewhere in the process of my fast tech purchase.

That seems weird, I have ordered from fasttech several times, and I check my credit card history every night and haven't seen anything weird pop up.

I'm not blaming anyone but I would take the pre caution steps on your end if such a thing happened.... Run some anti virus, and look for key loggers hiding in your computer that could potentially record all your key strokes.

did they tell you what it was and what the amount was? did it match up with fasttech?

Also haven't had probs with FT seeing as they use PP. 3 weeks ago though using my CC on a N. American based Ecig Vendor my number was stolen. Fortunately I used a card that I purposely asked to have a very low spending limit and was notified when someone tried to purchase 3K in items from another non related website.
Seeing as your entire transaction was carried out within the PP website I don't see how anyone could've gotten the number.Could be you have a KeyLogger as suggested. Maybe time to do some Spyware, Malware and Virus scans with something diff than your present setup IMO.

I use Fasttech and pay with Paypal. I was assured by my bank and by PayPal there was no safer way to go... I have not had any issues with any fraud but thanks for the heads up

Fasttech only takes payments through Paypal... Fasttech isn't your problem...

I thought so too. I just made a purchase this week but I used Paypal.

Only option I have ever been give at FT was paypal. If paypal is compromised then nothing is safe. More likely that its your PC or some other vendor some where.

I placed an order 4/28 and recived a shipping confirmation today with tracking#.
Checked Paypal and my bank and all seems OK. Thanks for the heads up, many years ago Paypal got hacked and my CC was compromised, of course the bank took care of it but Paypal (before ebay took over) closed my account!

Yeah, I would say that your issue is a virus or key logger on your computer. Never had a problem with Fasttech.

J138 - Did you use Paypal and link payment to the card?
If so - Did you use the card to make Paypal purchases?

If so - Look to other places you have DIRECTLY used the card.

PAYPAL does NOT release Card info. They handle Payment transaction as a middle man. Card bills out to PayPal, PayPal makes Payment to Vender
