Just like their other favorite pet bills, this one has crept back up again. This will kill small online businesses. Who is going to buy from out of state if they have to pay California's sales tax and ship their purchase?
The hulk Ebay is stepping up to the plate to fight it, hopefully it won't get far.
Assemblymonster Charles Calderon in Whittier is the man to yell at. My comment to his voicemail contained the suggestion he was absolutely insane. I pointed out that a lot of the small businesses that are providing State Income Taxes to California are online because a brick and mortar location isn't ideal for them. Maybe the overhead of leasing/utilities/etc is too much. He's going to kill small business in California with this bill.
