When a liquid says it is 50/50 PG/VG, are these values the percentage values of the base before flavor and nictotine are added or after? Due to Pure aqueous Nic having a density of 1024 mg/mL at 25* C, and I only being able to find 100mg/mL from producers, that leads me to question the accuracy of the 50/50 PG/VG statement. Unless of course the mixologist accounts for the volume of the carrier liquid of the nicotine and subtracts if from the corresponding base ingredients. I assume flavor carriers being mainly grain alcohol, the volume effect is under a 1% error and therefore negligible.
Looking through some popular online calculators and doing the math myself. a lot of people, especially DIY types might be misinformed as to calculating PG/VG ratios.
