Best way to remove tarnish?

Hey guys,

I was wondering what the best way to remove tarnish off brass (Saber Touch end caps) and tarnish off aluminum (The Thermo), I have tried simple tarnish removing clothes including the one that came with my ST but they dont do anything at all...What is a good safe product to use?

Toothpaste with a soft bristle toothbrush works wonders. I use crest because that is what I have in the bathroom. Works great on brass.

Tarn-X kicks ... on the few things I have tried. Mostly brass parts, I soak them for 5 min and rinse off.

No it doesn't. Most of the metal polishes contain ammonia and oxalic acid and some 'grit', usually some silica powder.

You might also give Copper Glo a try. It can be found in stores in the same area as Bar Keepers Friend, Comet, Ajax, etc.

I use to use cigarette ash to remove silver and brass tarnish...it works wonders but I no longer have any ash to use
ahh the horrors of vaping!

I tried Brasso and wasn't really happy with the results. I use the Cape Cod Cloths and they work awesome.

Try some Groove juice. I play the drums and i use it on my cymbals. it will make it shine. you could probably pick up some at your local music shop.

i dunno if i would do brasso. I used to have to clean my belt buckle with it in the Marines... and i wouldent wanna be inhaling it after i know what it can do to tarnished brass. But we did also use it to clean water fountains in boot camp... but then again we were allowed to use the water fountains in boot camp.
