AW IMR 18650 2000mAh burst limit.

Hey guys,

So I am getting my hands on some AW IMR 18650 2000mAh batteries. I want to run .4 ohms, but Ohm's Law Calculator says thats 10.6 amps. I would like to know what the burst is on these batteries, but cannot find it. Will I be safe to run .4 Ohms, or should I just aim for .5 Ohms and call it good?

The 2000mAh battery I believe has a max 10amp limit, but I think I read a few days ago the 1600 has a higher amp limit as of late... The MNKE IMR 18650 is rated for max 20amp discharge...

Yeah next month im getting some MNKE 1600mah 18650 batteries, but I was trying to do my research to see how far I can safely push these aw imr 18650 2000mah batteries in sub ohm.

i think the burst limit is 18 amps for 6 to 8 seconds on the 2000. continuous is 10 amps.
i dont think i would try and fund out if it holds though lol

I haven't heard of anyone experiencing any real faults with them for subΩ but i'm sure any battery will let you know quickly if it doesn't agree with what your trying to do... SubΩ = risk in my book!! I find it hard to vape anything lower than 1.2Ω anyway... Just my personal opinion...

With a continuous discharge of 10A you can safely assume the burst limit is greather than 10.6A. However the greater issue with these batteries is performance at that discharge rate. The 1600 would be a far better choice for this. I personally prefer to stay out of burst but these batteries should handle this discharge level.

yeah I ordered the 2000s cause my site was out of the 1600s. I am going to be buying some MNKE's 1600mAh in a week or so.

At .4 or .5 ohm, you will notice a huge difference on the hit with a 1600 compared to the 2000. The 2000's as they discharge is pretty lame. Grab the 1600's and you will love em'.

well I guess im good to run .4-.6ohm range on these AW IMR 18650. Just read on an RC forum of all places that 10C rating and 2000mAh would equal 20 amps. Is this correct? I am continuing to use google to do further research.

No need to assume, 10A IS the limit.

Technically, it is a "5C" battery. 2000mAh x 5C = 10,000mA = 10A

The link that dr g posted is a post made by the AW of AW batteries, Andrew Wong. The specs in that post are as accurate as you will ever find.

Most of the battery sites I've seen have the AW 2000 mAh rated at 10 amp continuous discharge rate.
