808D-1 passthrough question

Hey all! Been lurking for awhile, this is the first time I've had a question I couldn't easily do a search for.

The 808D-1 passthrough seems to put out tons more vapor than even my freshly charged batteries. Anyone know why? Is it running a different voltage?
If it is running a different voltage, is there an 808d-1 mod of any kind that's portable that has similar results?

I have a Tornado, but I just haven't found a cart mod that lasts nearly as long as the 808D-1 carts when I'm out in public, and I don't want to port juice around to work/bars/in the car on longer drives etc.

I believe the passthrough runs on 5 volts.

Thanks, know of any mods that would produce a similar effect, either with an adapter or without?
