But Governor Scott is signaling that he will veto any new taxes on Vermonters.

A bill, H. 922, moving through the Vermont Senate includes a provision which would impose a 46% wholesale tax on vapor products. After passing the House with an amendment that reduced the proposed tax down to its current rate, H. 922 has been referred to the Senate Committee on Finance.
At this time, no hearing has been scheduled, but that could change at any moment.
Please take action TODAY by sending a message
to your Vermont Senator and members of the Committee on Finance
urging them to reject this unreasonable tax.
In 2016, Pennsylvania enacted a similar 40% wholesale tax which closed nearly a third of the vapor businesses operating in the state. But most recently, Vermont’s neighbor to the west, New York, rejected a proposal to enact a wholesale tax on vaping as part of the state’s FY 2019 budget.
