You're guess is as good as mine. I've bee chatting with a friend of five years when this popped up so I thought I would see what they wanted since they used the word "forum" I thought it might be someone that needed help but to me it wasn't that at all.

You can always contact Yahoo, and also block them if possible from getting into your Yahoo messenger. Sorry you went thru this, very odd. A computer expert could probably tell you were it came from. V4L does have chinese liquid, but still the question how they contacted you.

I did have my YIM username in my profile. It's not there any more,lol The thing that throws me is why they would think I was with V4L. I don't have supplier or anything like that in my user title. And most of my posts in the V4L forum are asking for help. Also, if they were from the factory that V4L uses they would know Leaford and also they wouldn't have side stepped giving me a supplier name the way they did. I've already blocked them but did save the the IM just in case.

Weird. They probably saw the banner in your sig and assumed you were part of V4L. I wouldn't worry about it. They're probably just trying to get more business.

Probably just a spammer trying to get your CC information. That conversation reminded me of the chinese gold sellers in World of Warcraft. Just block them and move on with your life

See, that is what first came to mind. Just a few months ago a bunch of us had our CC info compromised. As soon as I heard about it I canceled the card I had been using and got one of the prepaid ones to use online. Less than a week after I canceled it I got a call from some place that told me if I didnt buy from them they would go ahead and charge my card. I told them good luck with that and hung up,lol

Jules, I have no idea either....but have also noticed lots banners are X'd out...there is apparently a virus on that smokemeter website. Probably has nothing to do with the big picture here, but I'm with you, your message would disturb me as well.
I opened a link in someone's post a while back that downloaded a whole bunch of pics and files into my trash bin. Over a hundred of them! Very Weird. The guy said it wasn't his stuff, but how did it get in my PC. They weren't mine either! Anti virus and anti spam don't always catch everything.

By the way, Congratulations on your upcoming Anniversary!! I made a year on the 9th, what a great feeling.

As for the IM, yeah, it was just really weird. I've been using YIM for over five years and have never had anything like this happen before. Just struck me as completely odd.

I get emails like this from places also but this is the first time I ever got an IM from one. It just struck me as really odd.

I stopped using mesengers years ago mainly because of the massive amount of spam.

This happened to me also a while back last year. They were wanting to know info on what Americans wanted with "mods" lol.....I told them to go buy one and theyd see why we like em so much
