Simple answer.

Mech Mod; Cheaper, not as safe as regulated mod. Can be more reliable since there are no electronics. Have to use high quality batteries.
Regulated Mod; Higher price tag then Mech mod, way safer. Can be less reliable to do complicated electronics, but many last for a very long time with no issues. Dont have to use high end batteries if you stay with in batteries range.

Sub-ohm; bigger clouds the lower the ohm, more flavor, uses less Voltage and Wattage to achieve the goal.

I would jump on a 100W kick in a heartbeat. I'm afraid it would be the size on a 18350 though... That would be one crazy long tube!

No a 100W kick wouldn't suddenly need to be any bigger than the electronics inside a 100W regulated mod.

Using a 100 watt kick with two batteries just means you can replace the kick if necessary (even if just troubleshooting a problem) instead of having to consider junking you whole mod.
