Old dried up gunked up juice can get stuck on there. I clean the connector ends of my spinners with 91% isopropyl alcohol and a Qtip every time I change a tank or before charging. Make sure the area is perfectly dry before use or charging.

I have also been told that it is better to use 99% isopropyl alcohol or everclear to do this with. Something about keeping the connectors clean for proper power flow.

Besides, some vapers are neater than others and dripped juice can gunk things up if not cleaned up properly. I frequently spill juice when refilling. I also occasionally will overfill a juice delivery device like my Evod or drip too many drops in my 510 atty.
