I have never had problems with pre paid, thats the only way I will pay over the internet.
You should not have a problem at all.......Has anyone tried using a prepaid card on Shawns site? Just wondering if it will go through the same.
I tried to use one and it wouldn't go through, though the money was noted as pending on the card (it eventually reverted back, so all is good). Not sure if the problem was with the card or with the site. It may have been that I didn't have the card registered - it was still a generic "a gift for you."
I think in the USA you have to have a name and address associated with the card.
most of the security settings are set to allow a prepaid card to go through. there may be a few that wont work but the majority should be just fine.
I actually haven't thought of using a prepaid, if they work that will be great for me, because I don't have a card myself. I'm guessing a standard VISA giftcard will work?
i used a wells fargo visa gift card/pre paid once, but i had to associate it with my address and name before it would work.
How do you associate it with your name and address? If It can be done, it would be great for my case.
Really easy, go to Wally world (walmart) get a Walmart visa card, initial amount on card can be up to $250, the card cost $3.
Come home go to the web site listed on the front of the card, put in your info and then it is associated to your name and addy
You can also add money to the card as needed.
There is monthly $3 fee.

yeah, a prepaid card would be nice for some of the shadier vendors (Not Shawn of course), never can be to careful with online stuff.
Yes, the Walmart or other major chain Visa's work just fine. I use them all the time for internet purchases.
My bank set me up with a secondary account that is not linked to my main account. It works the same as a prepaid card. You just limit the funds! The benefit is there is no waiting and no fees.
For the record, make sure to check which type of credit cards the vendor you have in mind takes. I grabbed an American Express Card today, only to find out later (I should of thought about it beforehand) that the two vendors I was going to buy from (one being Shawn) didn't take Amex. Not their fault, Amex charges merchants more. Hopefully someone will read this and avoid the same problem.
